Cathecassa was the eldest foal and daughter of the lead mare Maheenah. She was a carbon copy of her father in every way including temperament and body type. She was strong and wild, larger than even the herd colts. Her father was the lead stallion because he was the eldest colt of the great black Astral Wishes. She was just a little over a year when the civil divide between Sunsire and Orion began. Sunsire took one half and Orion took the other. Sunsire had won the land though leaving Orion with only a nomadic band of mares and foals.

Instead of settling they took to the neutral lands of other herds and moved on quickly. Always roaming led them into many different situations but they never had to face humans because they never remained too long. When Cathecassa was four years old she was pushed out of the herd to start her own future. Still the mare could not settle so she stayed in the outskirts of the herd lands. It was not long after Starstruck went into her first heat and left the band in the same area. Cathecassa caught a bit of her scent and set out to find her but instead she found the yearling Songstress and took her in. The two were alone until they at last found Starstruck and a struggling newborn. Cathecassa saw her sister fending off a brute and he was beating her to death. In blind rage she jumoed in on him and everytime he tried anything she was on him thrashing and gripping with cruel teeth and hoof. She was a monster, much bigger and stronger than him. Filled with maternal instinct she had an adrenaline rush and left the stallion an inch towards death broken and bleeding.

She led her slashed up half-sister and the newborn Starfire away through the labyrinth of woods she'd come to know so well. Songstress held them together but they could not remain. From that day Cathecassa's destiny was sealed. She'd protect the mares and foals that came in her care. No stallion would ever control them. They needed a defense and she was that wall they needed. She has taken many mares into her care since and fought back every threat with great resistance but it has come at a price. Because of her position she has never tried for a foal. So what will she do for an heir?

Cathecassa was proven to be a humorous and compassionate mare with a taste for adventure. She is wild and carefree for one of her position. She can be a wonderfully capricious and unpredictable mare. Cathecassa has no respect for proper rules and can be somewhat chaotic but she has always come through and when her wrath is invoked you'll never meet a more bloodthirsty or vengeful individual. As wonderful as she can be she can also be dangerous. Step carefully.
